Stake for Validator

To become a qualified Validator in the exSat consensus, candidate Validator must stake a minimum of 100 BTC and, in the future, 21,000 XSAT. Currently, XSAT staking is not yet started, so only the 100 BTC stake is required to become a Validator. Users can stake their BTC to help Validators reach the 100 BTC requirement and earn XSAT rewards in return.
To participate in staking, you need to bridge your BTC assets to exSat via the cross-chain bridge, then swap your BTC to XBTC in your wallet. You can visit the staking page, select the Validator you want to stake with, click the "Stake" button, input the BTC amount you wish to stake, and approve the transaction in your wallet to complete the staking.
On this page, you can view your current stakes, as well as withdraw your stake or claim your rewards. Please note that there is a 28-day waiting period before you can actually withdraw your BTC after unstaking.
You can also transfer your current stake to another Validator without waiting for the 28-day period to take effect.
Stakers earn rewards in $XSAT from the Validator they choose to stake to. When selecting a Validator, consider the following factors:
Staked BTC Amount: A Validator must have at least 100 BTC staked to qualify for participation in the exSat consensus and earn $XSAT rewards. Ensure that the Validator you choose is eligible to participate.
Commission Rate: This rate is set by the Validator. During rewards distribution, the commission is first allocated to the Validator, with the remaining rewards divided among Stakers based on their individual stake amounts.
Validator’s APR: A Validator’s annual percentage rate (APR) depends on various factors, including participation in BTC block consensus, which directly affects your rewards. Validators earn rewards only when they actively participate in consensus. Additionally, the first 2/3 + 1 of Validators to complete consensus for a BTC block receive extra rewards. Therefore, Validators that are faster and consistently online may earn higher rewards, enhancing Staker earnings.
